A 14-year-old girl has been raped by her friend at a girl’s hostel near Basistha Temple in Guwahati.
The incident unravelled when the girl and the boy held a small house party with alcohol on May 1 and once the girl got drunk, the boy took advantage of the situation and allegedly sexually assaulted the girl, after which he left the place.
According to the reports, the girl has been residing in room no. 6 of a private hostel near Basistha Temple.
The incident came into light after the victim filed a complaint against her friend at Hajo police station on May 2.
The Hajo police along with Basistha police arrested the culprit on May 5.
Reportedly, the accused person has also committed such crimes earlier but they went unreported.
