Mizoram: 2 women including Myanmar national Arrested with heroin

Guwahati: In yet another successful crackdown against illegal drugs trade, Assam Rifles arrested two women including a Myanmar national for being involved in drugs from Aizawl district of Mizoram.

Acting on a tip-off, squad of Assam Rifles in a joint operation with special narcotics squad (CID) of state police in Aizawl carried out an operation in Sateek area.

During search, 120 grams of heroin have been recovered by the officials from the possession of the two women.

However, police officials further informed that the two women aged 50 and 48 years respectively.

As per reports, one of the accused is a resident of Chin state in Myanmar.

The value of the seized heroin is suspected to be worth Rs 60 lakh.

An investigation to ascertain further linkages is underway.
