Wild Elephants Wreak Havoc in Assam’s Goalpara

Guwahati: A herd of wild elephants assaulted a village on Sunday, wreaking havoc in the process in Goalpara district of Assam.

The incident took place in Lakshipur of the district.

Reports claim that the herd of elephants has wreaked havoc in the village by devouring all the crops and ruining the locals’ rice fields for the past eleven days.

The forest department has not been able to move the herd of elephants away despite several complaints.

It needs to be mentioned that this is not the first incident where wild tuskers have caused trouble and damaged houses.
