Banker from Assam’s Silchar Found Dead in Karnataka

Guwahati: In a shocking incident, the body of a banker from Silchar was recovered inside a train’s sealed restroom in Karnataka.

The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Ashok Roy Choudhury.

According to reports, Choudhury was working with Union Bank of India in Shivamogga of Karnataka.

Reportedly, he went missing on March 25 (Saturday).

Reports further claim that Choudhury’s body was found inside a locked bathroom of an Intercity Express train travelling between Yeshvantpur and Shivamoga (Shimoga) on March 26 (Sunday).

During routine cleaning, the cleaning team recovered that a toilet aboard the train leaving Shimoga at 3:30 pm was locked from the inside.

The body of Choudhury was then found inside the lavatory after the railway workers broke the door to open.

According to reports, Anushka Roy Choudhury, Ashok’s wife, who had arrived at Yeshwantpur station from Silchar via Kolkata and was waiting for him filed a FIR with the Yeshwantpur Railway Police after failing to get in touch with him since Saturday night. Anushka had travelled to Silchar for educational reasons.

Initial investigations have revealed that Choudhury’s death was caused by a severe heart arrest.

Reports further claimed that Ashok’s family is yet to accept this as a case of cardiac arrest and they are awaiting for the post-mortem reports.
