CRPF distributes solar lamps to people under Civic Action Programme in Assam’s Hailakandi

Guwahati: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on March 28 provided solar lights to 74 low-income residents of the Hailakandi district of Assam as part of the CRPF’s civic action programme, said an official. 

According to the official, 74 people received solar lamps at the Kuchila in Hailakandi district location of the delta company of the CRPF’s No. 147 Battalion.

The second-in-command of the 147 battalions of the CRPF, Y Nand Kishore Singh, informed the media that efforts would be taken in the following days to provide the underprivileged with better-quality items.

”On behalf of delta company of CRPF’s No. 147 Battalion, we organised a Civic Action Programme. In this programme, solar lamps were distributed to 74 people at Kuchila area in Hailakandi district,” said Singh while speaking to media on the occasion. 

Singh added that this is a measure to improve ties between paramilitary groups and the civilian populace.
