Tana Agyang View Point In Ziro Inaugurated By Arunachal CM
Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday inaugurated the Tana Agyang View Point in the Lower Subansiri district near Ziro.
CM Khandu visited the lower Subansiri, Kamle, upper Subansiri, West Siang, and Shi Yomi districts as part of an official tour.
The project, which includes a view of the Tahing Lampii cave is being carried out by MGNREGA job cardholders in collaboration with the Tayang Sukung and Nago Arang gramme panchayats. The cutting-edge, financially viable model that the Habung Welfare Society supports is a great illustration of a convergence mode driven by the community.
Khandu lay the project’s cornerstone in January of last year.
Khandu urged others to imitate the project’s trend-setting convergence approach of project implementation.
“A total of Rs 20.75 lakh was utilized for the project, which was sourced from various programs like the MGNREGA, ‘My village, My development Plan’, 14th FC Grant, APEDA, state government resources and voluntary contributions from members of the Habung Welfare Society. This indeed is one of the best projects implemented through convergence mode. People of Ziro have shown a way forward,” he said.
The chief minister added that it not only required the involvement of local communities but also prevented the wasting of tax dollars.
“If this same project would have been implemented under the sole jurisdiction of the state government in accordance with the old way of implementing projects, it would have cost the government exchequer not less than a crore,” he observed.
Khandu claimed that the promised money for the site’s further development would be given shortly.
Furthermore, he stated that he would welcome people from other towns to visit the project once it had been further developed and finished so that they could do a case study on the convergence model there.
“Convergence model is the best way forward. People of the rest of the communities should learn to take advantage of this model to develop their respective areas. I have been rooting for a convergence model with all executing agencies of government departments, district administrations and community leaders for years,” Khandu said.
