PM Narendra Modi To Arrive In Guwahati Today

Guwahati: On the occasion of Bohag Bihu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Guwahati on Friday for a one-day visit of the state.

PM Modi will inaugurate a number of Assamese-focused development initiatives while in Guwahati. Prior to his arrival, Chief Minister Himata Biswa Sarma informed him that the projects cost a total of Rs 8,000 crores to complete.

According to reports, PM Modi would touch down today at around 11.30 am at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) near Guwahati’s Borjhar. He will then get a helicopter to IIT Guwahati from there.

Following that, the Prime Minister will officially open the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Guwahati, the first in the whole northeast, which is expected to have a substantial positive impact on the local medical infrastructure. He will effectively inaugurate the eagerly anticipated medical institutions in Nagaon, Kokrajhar, and Nalbari while he is at AIIMS.

In a full day’s schedule, PM Modi is scheduled to begin symbolically giving out Ayushman Cards to state ration card holders today. In its most recent budget, the state administration highlighted the Chief Minister Ayushman Asom health insurance programme, which is similar to the Ayushman Bharat programme of the federal government.

Ayushman cards will be created for the 1.10 billion holders of ration cards. The health programme will launch on May 10 to commemorate two years of Himanta Biswa Sarma’s coalition government in the state.

Then, PM Modi would virtually open a top-notch research hospital at IIT-Guwahati. The Government of Assam and IIT collaborated to establish the hospital.

From the IIT-Guwahati, PM Modi will take a helicopter to Khanapara Veterinary Field, and from there, he will travel to Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra to attend a ceremony there. Around 1.45 pm, PM Modi will attend the Gauhati High Court’s Platinum Jubilee celebration’s closing ceremony.

After that, PM Modi will spend some time at the Koinadhara Guest House before travelling to the Sarusajai Stadium to attend the massive Bihu event, which Assam hopes to watch in order to break the record for the largest Bihu performance in a single location.

However, Assam Chief Minister Sarma abruptly altered his plans, causing the record to be set on April 13 rather than April 12.

Assam Petro Chemical Limited’s (APL) 500 TPD-Methanol in Namrup, the launch of the beautification project for Rang ghar in Sivasagar, and the laying of the foundation stone for the 4-lane Palasbari-Sualkuchi link bridge are the three additional projects that PM Modi will essentially inaugurate or lay the foundation stones for while he is at Sarusajai stadium.

The Kamrup Metropolitan District has been designated a “No Drone Fly Zone” from April 13 to April 14 in anticipation of his visit. In view of the PM’s visit, additional limitations on automobile movement have been put in place.
