Assam: Mystery Shrouds Married Woman’s Death in Darrang

Guwahati: In a shocking incident, a married woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Darrang district of Assam on Tuesday.

The incident took place at Ghopa village in Sipajhar of the district.

The deceased has been identified as Bhonita Deka.

Bhonita’s husband and in-laws were accused by the locals of torturing her and demanding a dowry.

Following the chaotic situation, police personnel were deployed to prevent any kind of untoward incident in the locality.

Three people, including Kishore Baruah’s husband have been arrested by the Sipajhaar police in connection with the incident.

The incident has left the locals in shock and disbelief.
