1 dead in Tripura as killer heat wave continues

Guwahati: One death from sunstroke has been recorded in Tripura during the intense heat wave.

The deceased has been identified as Ranjit Dey. He was a resident of Tripura’s Sabroom.

Ranjit Dey, a local shopkeeper, reportedly fainted on the way to his business and was pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital.

The state’s various districts have seen the hospitalisation of a number of people, on the other hand.
The state Health Department has set up additional procedures to deal with the inclement weather while advising people to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary.

The impact of a heat wave is still being felt, according to the weather service, despite a modest drop in the peak temperature from Monday. It suggested that Thursday might bring rain to the state.

The Tripura government said on Monday that all government-run and grant-in-aid schools must be shuttered from April 18 to April 23. This was announced by Chief Minister Manik Saha.

The present temperature in Tripura is 36 degrees Celsius, making it tough for schoolchildren to handle the heat wave. Meanwhile, private educational institutions were asked to keep their doors closed at that time.
