Amritpal Singh’s Wife Stopped at airport in Amritsar While Boarding Flight
Guwahati: ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh’s wife Kirandeep Kaur was detained for interrogation on Thursday as she attempted to board a flight for London at the Amritsar airport.
Kirandeep Kaur was set to board an Air India flight to Birmingham at 2:30 PM, according to airport officials. She reported to the immigration counters at 12:20 p.m., and because she was covered by the Look Out Circular (LOC), immigration denied her travel permission and detained her.
Police sources claim that Kaur was stopped by the immigration division. The Punjab police questioned her last month. She was questioned regarding her husband’s whereabouts as well as his future intentions to feed the flames of Khalistan and her own past.
“Amritpal Singh’s wife Kirandeep Kaur has not been detained yet. She is being questioned by the Immigration department,” Punjab Police source said.
In a significant development in the ongoing search for radical preacher and fugitive Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh, the Punjab police earlier detained Joga Singh, who was close to Singh, in Sirhind, in the Fatehgarh Sahib district.
A close friend of Amritpal Singh’s, Papalpreet Singh, was taken to the Dibrugarh Central Jail earlier this month. Singh was detained by the Punjab Police in the Kathu Nangal neighbourhood of Amritsar. Papalpreet was detained in accordance with the National Security Act (NSA), according to Sukhchain Singh Gill, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Headquarters for Punjab.
