Rajnath Singh: Keep Close Watch On The Situation At Indo-China Border

Guwahati: Union defence minister Rajnath Singh issued a directive to senior army commanders on Wednesday to keep a close eye on the situation at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China amid the ongoing dispute with that country as tensions continue to rise and the situation at the Indo-China border remains dangerous.

The union minister mentioned the standoff at the eastern Ladakh border while expressing trust in the army to handle any emergency while addressing at the army commanders’ conference. Rajnath Singh asserted that retreat and de-escalation are the best course of action, and that the continuing negotiations for a peaceful resolution to the problem will continue.

This occurs as the Indian and Chinese border conflict in Ladakh enters its third year. In four rounds, disengagement occurred at the Galwan Valley, Gogra (PP-17A), Pangong Tso, and Hot Springs (PP-15).

Rajnath Singh stated that the Center’s policy has always been to give the army the greatest tools and equipment at the conference. He advised us to be prepared for every eventuality.

He added that the army had swiftly constructed infrastructure in eastern Ladakh that had improved the surveillance of the border areas.

Rajnath Singh also asserts that cyber information, mass communication, trade, and money would play a significant role in upcoming conflicts.

It should be noted that although there have been as many as 17 rounds of negotiations between the Chinese and Indian armies thus far, little has been done to address the Charding Nullah Junction (CNJ), which is situated between the Depsang and Demchok sectors.
