Guwahati: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the final lineup for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia, which will be contested at The Oval in London from June 7 to 11. Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane has made a comeback in the Indian Test squad.
The veteran Indian hitter has displayed exceptional form for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He made five appearances for CSK, scoring 209 runs with a strike rate of 199.05.
KL Rahul, who missed the final two Tests of the Australia series, is also back with the team. KS Bharat and Jaydev Unadkar, on the other hand, have been included to the team after recently playing for India in Test matches. Rishabh Pant has been replaced by Bharat as he recovers from injuries sustained in a car accident.
The home series against Australia players Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kuldeep Yadav were dropped.
Although Cheteshwar Pujara, who served as Sharma’s backup in the last two Test matches against Australia at home, is anticipated to be asked to do the role once more, there is no designated vice-captain for the WTC final.

On the other hand, Australia has already revealed their lineup for the WTC championship match. David Warner will be part of Australia’s 17-player touring group for the first two Ashes Tests as well as the ICC World Test Championship final against India at The Oval.
