BTR Chief Urges militant outfit to come to mainstream

Guwahati: BTR Chief Pramod Boro on Tuesday urged the KLO group to rejoin the mainstream in order to engage in peace negotiations.

When questioned about the murder of two KLO members and the capture of four more on Monday morning in Kokrajhar, Boro responded that creating an organisation by holding people to ransom is not the best method to advance social welfare.

He asserted that using weapons will not result in a solution and that militants should instead reintegrate society and devote themselves to its advancement.

It should be noted that two KLO rebels were killed on Monday after a shootout with police at Chakriyagaon in the Baokhungri Hills of the Chakrashila Wildlife Sanctuary in the Kokrajhar district. Three further cadres were also captured. Another rebel also sustained injuries when he was pursued and attacked by the populace.
