Meghalaya: 13 Bangladeshi nationals Held in WGH

Guwahati: Thirteen Bangladeshi nationals and three Indians were arrested by the Border Security Force (BSF) for illegally crossing over from the international border in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya.

Based on specific information, troops of 193 Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) caught them in Dangar village, located in East Khasi Hills district.

As per reports, the group was caught when the Bangladeshi nationals emerged from the nearby jungle area and were about to board a parked Tata Sumo vehicle.

Upon being interrogated, the group admitted that they had come to India with the goal of going to Kashmir to work as labourers or in other menial jobs.

The people who had been captured were taken to the Dangar police station for further action.

The BSF authorities claimed to have information about the suspect and have since been vigilantly watching the area.
