Guwahati Girl Shines at 2023 Global Excellence Awards
Guwahati: Saubhagya Sharma of Guwahati received the Youngest Philanthropist of the Year Award for Animal Welfare at the Global Excellence Awards 2023, held in Mumbai.
She was thrilled to receive the award from well-known Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit Nene, an animal lover.
She has worked and volunteered with a number of NGOs that are well-known both nationally and internationally, including Peta India, PFA, and The Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO).
Saubhagya has always shown a great deal of kindness and sympathy to stray animals. Since she began fostering children when she was a young adult, she has volunteered at animal shelters, orphanages, and senior living facilities. She did this while working in the human resources department of a prestigious multinational airline business.
She pursued her love and earned a diploma in animal communication and psychology from Celtic Learning Solution, Akshaya Kawle in Mumbai and Elmira Strange, University of Whales, UK.
She became vegan after being inspired by Jo-Ann McArthur, participated in many activist events and awareness campaigns, and on her own without the aid of any contributions, rescued and immunised more than 800 stray animals across the nation. The mission of Saubhagya is to teach kindness over cruelty and to speak up for all the voiceless.
