Truck Collision With Tree Leaves Driver Trapped For Hours In Assam

Guwahati: An incident that occurred at Titabar in the Jorhat district of Assam involved a cement-loaded vehicle that lost control and hit a large tree, causing significant damage.

The truck bearing the registration number AS-01-MC-2465 was involved in a collision in Titabar’s Dholi around 5.20 am on Friday.

The truck’s driver was trapped inside the crumpled car for four hours and suffered severe injuries in the incident. The situation required fast action, so the fire brigade and the Titabar police joined forces to try to free the trapped driver.

The motorist was successfully freed from the rubble after four hours of arduous effort involving the use of cranes, scavengers, and fire brigade vehicles. The driver was quickly taken to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) with the help of the emergency helpline 108 due to his serious condition.

At least 15 persons suffered serious injuries in a head-on collision between a truck and a passenger bus earlier on May 10 in Nambor, Assam’s Golaghat district.

The accident happened in the afternoon when the passenger bus and the speeding truck collided directly. Up to 15 passengers may have been hurt, according to reports.

Fortunately, there were no casualties recorded at the time this report was filed.
