Guwahati: Water Pipeline Burst Leads to Heavy Spillage in Maligaon

Guwahati: A major water pipeline ruptured beneath the Maligaon flyover, which is still under construction, in the city of Guwahati on Monday morning.

Following a Gammon JICA water supply main line pipe rupture in the Kharguli area of Guwahati last Thursday, which swept away multiple vehicles and destroyed the nearby residences, several families have recently been left without a home.

After the water supply pipeline rupture incident in Kharguli, which also took the life of a woman and injured other people nearby, the situation is still dangerous.

The families were given shelter at Joypur Primary School after being left stranded in Kharguli’s Joypur after a water pipeline ruptured yesterday.

The water supply pipeline burst at Kharguli, killing a woman by the name of Sumitra Rabha.

Moreover, the incident that was responsible for multiple two-wheeler and four-wheeler cars being washed away injured as many as 19 local residents. The injured are being treated right now.
The force of the water was so great that it also caused damage to several nearby homes, knocking down walls and foundations, which quickly forced several residents from their homes and left them without refuge.
