Gufi Paintal Who Played Shakuni Mama in Mahabharat Passes Away
Guwahati: Gufi Paintal, a veteran actor who portrayed Shakuni Mama in the Mahabharat, died on Monday morning at the age of 78.
His son Harry Paintal confirm the report and wrote a statement saying, “With profound grief we announce the sad demise of our father Mr. Gufi Paintal (Shakuni Mama),”. This morning, he passed away peacefully in the company of his loved ones.
Gufi was checked into the hospital after experiencing health problems.
Shakuni Mama, a promising character, was played by Gufi Paintal in the 1988 version of Mahabharat, which BR Chopra directed. From October 2, 1988, through June 24, 1990, Doordarshan aired the television programme.
In addition, he appeared in a number of well-known Bollywood films, such as Rafoo Chakkar, Des Pardes, Dillagi, Maidan-E-Jung, and Daava, among others.
