Late-Night Visit By Assam CM To Maligaon Flyover Construction Site
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma paid a late-night visit to the flyover that is being built in the Maligaon area of Guwahati on Wednesday to assess the situation.
Two people were injured on Tuesday when an iron shuttering slab that was underneath the flyover project that was still being built fell on them. As a result, a vehicle also sustained damage.
This occurs only a few days after a video showing deadly sparks from continuing welding work at the flyover landing on cars passing underneath it on social media surfaced.
Inquiring about the health of the injured, CM Sarma also visited the hospital where they were being treated.
According to reports, the Maligaon flyover will open this year prior to the Durga Puja festivities.
The chief minister further disclosed that due to ongoing building projects, nighttime vehicular access to the construction site has been prohibited.
