Sangeet Natak Akademi Hosts ‘Shakti: A Festival of Music and Dance’ to Reinvigorate Temple Traditions Across India
Sangeet Natak Akademi is all set to host ‘Shakti: A Festival of Music and Dance’ as part of its esteemed Kala Pravah series, aimed at revitalizing temple traditions across India. The festival, coinciding with the auspicious Navaratri period, commenced on April 9, 2024, promising a vibrant celebration of divine feminine energy.
The grand inauguration took place at the revered Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati, marking the beginning of a nine-day journey to honor the power of nine goddesses symbolized by Navaratri. The festival, titled ‘Shakti,’ will traverse through seven different Shaktipeeths, paying homage to the divine feminine at each sacred site from April 9 to 17, 2024.
Following the splendid inauguration at Kamakhya Temple, the festivities will unfold at various iconic Shaktipeeths across the country. These include Mahalakshmi Temple in Kolhapur, Jwalamukhi Temple in Kangada, Tripura Sundari in Udaipur, Ambaji Temple in Banaskantha, Jai Durga Shaktipeeth in Deoghar, and culminate at Shaktipeeth Maa Harsidhi Temple in Jaisinghpur, Ujjain, on April 17, 2024.
