Tripura Election Office Sets Up Voter Help Line for Lok Sabha General Elections
The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Tripura, has taken proactive steps to ensure smooth conduct of the General Election to the Lok Sabha by setting up Voter Help Lines in all 60 Assembly Constituencies. The initiative aims to provide voters and political parties with a centralized platform to address queries, issues, and complaints related to the electoral process.
As per the order issued by Chief Electoral Officer Puneet Agarwal, each Assembly Segment Level will have a dedicated Voter Help Line, with one Complaint Redressal Officer (CRO) assigned by the Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) overseeing its operation. The CRO, along with their team, will handle complaints received via mobile numbers and WhatsApp, maintain records, address grievances promptly, and assign suitable officers or teams for resolution, ensuring timely updates to complainants.
Additionally, the same CRO overseeing the Voter Help Line will be responsible for monitoring social media handles related to the concerned Assembly Segment. They will track any news or issues being shared or circulated and take necessary action accordingly.
To facilitate effective implementation of the mechanism, all Complaint Redressal Officers (CROs) are authorized to collaborate with Civil and Police Sector Officers, Flying Squads, Static Surveillance teams, Video Surveillance teams, Officer-in-Charges of concerned Police Stations, CAPF units, and TSR units of respective Sub-Divisions. This collaboration aims to address complaints received through the Voter Help Line promptly under the supervision of the Assistant Returning Officer, with overall guidance from the Returning Officer.
The Voter Help Line initiative underscores the commitment of the Election Office in Tripura to ensure transparency, accountability, and accessibility throughout the electoral process, fostering trust and confidence among voters and political stakeholders.
