Congress Leaders Gaurav Gogoi and Rakibul Hussain Rally Support in Karimganj Ahead of By-Election

Congress MP candidate Gaurav Gogoi, while campaigning for party candidate Hafiz Rashid Choudhary in Karimganj, made a striking statement, suggesting that this Lok Sabha election could potentially be his last. Addressing supporters at an election rally, Gogoi emphasized the significance of safeguarding democracy through the electoral process, urging voters to consider the stakes involved.

Reflecting on his father, late Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi’s legacy, Gaurav Gogoi emphasized their commitment to ethical governance, devoid of any involvement in controversial practices such as syndicates or nepotism. He further criticized AIUDF and discouraged support for any political entity aligned with BJP or Chief Minister Sarma.

Meanwhile, Congress MP candidate Rakibul Hussain also rallied support for Hafiz Rashid Choudhary in Karimganj, highlighting Choudhary’s role as a unifying force between Barak and Brahmaputra regions. Hussain expressed dissatisfaction with BJP’s developmental efforts in Karimganj, questioning their efficacy compared to the contributions of Moinul Haque Chowdhury.

Hussain underscored grievances over the delimitation process, alleging infringement upon the political rights of Hindus and Muslims in Karimganj. He urged voters to throw their support behind Hafiz Rashid Choudhary in the upcoming by-election, promising legal challenges to contest the MLA’s post and criticizing Himanta Biswa Sarma’s influence in the electoral process.
