Congress Leader’s Slip of the Tongue Sparks Controversy in Nagaon LS Seat

In a surprising twist, Congress leader and MLA Sibamoni Bora inadvertently urged voters to support the defeat of MP Pradyut Bordoloi in the Nagaon Lok Sabha seat, igniting a firestorm in political circles and casting doubts on the party’s unity and electoral strategy.

During an election rally, Sibamoni Bora’s statement, calling for the resounding defeat of Congress MP candidate Pradyut Bordoloi, has stirred controversy, prompting speculation about internal rifts within the party.

Asserting that voters should ensure Bordoloi’s defeat by a substantial margin, Bora’s remarks have added a new dimension to the electoral dynamics in the Nagaon constituency.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma seized the opportunity to further criticize Bordoloi, labeling him a ‘Suitcase MP’ known for his sporadic appearances during elections, only to vanish thereafter.

Speaking at an election rally in Juria, Sarma accused Bordoloi of elitism, suggesting that the Congress leader’s demeanor and communication style alienate him from the people of Assam.

Sarma’s scathing remarks underscore the intensifying political battle in Nagaon, where rival parties vie for supremacy in the upcoming elections.
