Review Meeting Held on Implementation of Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram
A comprehensive review meeting took place on Thursday at the Secretariat Conference Hall, MINECO, where Minority Affairs Minister Katikithala Srinivas led discussions with state officials regarding the progress and implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK).
Key stakeholders convened to evaluate the progress achieved thus far under PMJVK and deliberate on strategies to further enhance the execution of various schemes across multiple departments, including Sports & Youth Services, ICT, and Social Welfare Tribal Affairs & Women & Child Development.
PMJVK, a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS), focuses on facilitating the development of community infrastructure and basic amenities in identified areas. Under this scheme, projects are implemented on a fund-sharing basis by the respective State Governments/Union Territory (UT) Administrations, with oversight and management vested in the hands of the concerned State/UT Government.
The meeting underscored the crucial role of the State Level Committee (SLC), chaired by the Chief Secretary of the respective States/Union Territories (UTs), in recommending proposals for infrastructure development based on the identified areas’ demands.
The collaborative efforts showcased during the meeting highlight the government’s commitment to fostering holistic development and addressing the needs of marginalized communities through targeted interventions under PMJVK.
