Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Calls for Dialogue Amidst Petrol Bomb Attacks
In response to a series of petrol bomb attacks unsettling Shillong, Prestone Tynsong, Meghalaya’s Deputy Chief Minister and head of the Home portfolio, has advocated for peace and dialogue to address underlying grievances. Emphasizing the importance of constructive dialogue, Tynsong asserted that disturbances and violence would not resolve the issues at hand. He extended an invitation to any disgruntled groups or individuals to engage in discussions to address their concerns.
Asserting the government’s commitment to ensuring safety and justice, Tynsong highlighted ongoing investigations into the attacks. He assured citizens that the authorities, under the direction of the Director General of Police, are diligently pursuing the culprits behind the incidents.
Speaking against the futility of violence, Tynsong urged citizens to uphold peace and refrain from taking the law into their own hands. He emphasized that resorting to actions like throwing stones or petrol bombs would achieve nothing and urged all citizens to prioritize peace and harmony.
