During his recent tour of the Bishnupur district, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh unveiled a robust relief plan for communities devastated by a recent hailstorm.

Singh assured affected farmers of substantial government compensation and reiterated his commitment to supporting those who suffered losses. He announced the imminent deployment of officials to assess the extent of damage, paving the way for swift assistance.

Additionally, Singh revealed a forthcoming scheme aimed at bolstering the resilience of the agriculture and horticulture sectors, signaling long-term support for affected livelihoods.

In a bid to address immediate housing needs, he called upon local clubs to collaborate in the repair efforts, promising expedited delivery of reconstruction materials, including vital tin sheets, within four days.

The hailstorm wreaked havoc not only on thousands of homes but also inflicted severe damage on hectares of farmland across the state.
