BTC to Commemorate ‘Bodo Bijwng San, 2024’ on May 18
Kokrajhar, Assam – The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) is set to observe ‘Bodo Bijwng San, 2024’ on May 18, marking a significant milestone in the promotion of the Bodo language as a medium of instruction in schools across Assam. This commemoration reaffirms the BTC’s unwavering dedication to preserving and advancing the Bodo language and culture within the region.
The BTC has assured that the celebrations will be conducted without disrupting the regular functioning of educational institutions and government offices under its jurisdiction. Directives have been issued to all such establishments within the BTC’s purview to observe the occasion with due reverence. The initiative has garnered support from the Chief Executive Member of the BTC, signifying its importance at the administrative level.
The ‘Bodo Bijwng San’ festivities come shortly after the conclusion of the two-day golden jubilee celebration of the Luki-Bekeli Bodo Sahitya Sabha on May 12. This jubilant event featured annual conferences of various Bodo organizations, including the Boko Anchalik Boro Jatiya Parishad and the Boko Anchalik Bathou Mohaxobha. The jubilee celebrations culminated in open sessions, where participants deliberated on the future prospects of the Kamrup District Boro Sahitya Sabha.
During the inaugural ceremony of the jubilee celebrations, Nilkanta Goyari, Secretary of the Central Boro Sahitya Sabha, emphasized the critical role of political decisions made by district committees in shaping the trajectory of the newly established Kamrup District Boro Sahitya Sabha. His remarks underscored the imperative of unified leadership and strategic planning for the organization’s sustained progress.
As BTC prepares to observe ‘Bodo Bijwng San, 2024’, the focus remains steadfast on nurturing the growth of the Bodo language and ensuring its pivotal position within Assam’s educational framework.
