Kabak Yano from Arunachal Pradesh Makes History as Fifth Woman from the State to Summit Mount Everest

Arunachal Pradesh’s mountaineering community rejoices as Kabak Yano, a native of Kamle district, achieves a monumental feat by conquering Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, at 11:50 am on May 21, 2024.

Kabak Yano’s triumphant ascent adds her name to the distinguished list of Arunachali women mountaineers, including Tine Mena, Anshu Jamsenpa, Muri Linggi, and Tashi Yangjom, who have previously scaled the formidable peak. Together, they embody the unwavering spirit and determination of Arunachal Pradesh’s mountaineering fraternity.
