NIT Meghalaya’s Visionary Step: Empowering Visually Impaired Individuals with Computer Training Centre
Breaking barriers and fostering inclusivity, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya has inaugurated a groundbreaking computer training centre at its temporary campus in Bijni Complex, Laitumkhrah. This initiative aims to uplift the visually impaired community in Meghalaya by equipping them with essential computer skills.
With an estimated 2300 visually impaired individuals in the state, the need for practical training and empowerment is pressing. The two-month course offered at the centre covers Microsoft Office, Excel, document writing, web browsing, and social media proficiency, providing valuable skills for employment and independence.
The inaugural batch comprises ten visually impaired individuals who will receive certificates upon completion, acknowledging their newfound expertise.
