Governor Anusuiya Uikey Leads International Day of Yoga Celebrations at Raj Bhavan, Imphal

Today, Raj Bhavan in Imphal was the vibrant venue for celebrating the International Day of Yoga, an annual event observed worldwide on June 21st since its adoption by the United Nations in 2014. This day serves to highlight yoga’s extensive benefits for physical and mental well-being on a global scale.

Under the theme ‘Yoga for Self and Society’, Governor Anusuiya Uikey of Manipur led the yoga sessions at Raj Bhavan, participating alongside officers, staff, and security personnel. The event underscored yoga’s dual role in improving individual health and fostering societal harmony.

Governor Uikey, after the yoga session, emphasized the significance of integrating yoga into daily routines for maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. She cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s advocacy for yoga, highlighting its substantial advantages for both physical fitness and mental wellness.

She extended her best wishes to participants, including officers, staff, security personnel, and officials from the Ayush Department, who enthusiastically engaged in the yoga session.
