Urgent Appeal for Veteran Freedom Fighter Anuram Baruah’s Medical Care at 105
Anuram Baruah, a revered freedom fighter hailing from Assam’s Gohpur, known for his pivotal role in India’s independence movement, is currently battling severe illness at the age of 105.
Baruah has been confined to bed for nearly a month due to inadequate medical attention. Despite residing in Gohpur, where he remains actively engaged in social activities, his health has been steadily deteriorating.
Expressing deep concern, Baruah’s son highlighted the family’s struggles in seeking assistance from local authorities, including the Gohpur administration and their MLA. Despite assurances, no concrete support or visitation has been provided thus far.
“My father, Shri Anuram Barua, has dedicated his life to social causes and is a pensioner under the Freedom Fighter scheme. We have informed the administration about his critical condition, but their promised visit remains pending,” his son lamented, urging swift action from the authorities.
Apart from his historical contributions, Baruah continues to actively participate in community affairs within Gohpur. Faced with the urgency of his medical needs, the family has now turned to the Assam Chief Minister, appealing for immediate medical intervention and enhanced care for the esteemed freedom fighter.
