Nongstoin and Ri-Bhoi Excel in Meghalaya Youth League 2024 with Impressive Wins

Shillong, July 29, 2024 — Nongstoin and Ri-Bhoi District Sports Associations showcased their dominance in the Meghalaya Youth League 2024 with notable victories in both the U-14 and U-16 categories.

At the UUP Stadium in Pynursla, Ri-Bhoi excelled in Zone C, achieving a staggering 9-0 win against Riwar Mihngi Football Association in the U-14 category and a 6-0 triumph in the U-16 division. Ribanshan Kyrsian emerged as a standout performer, scoring a hat-trick in the U-14 match.

Nongstoin, competing in Zone D, continued their unbeaten streak with a 3-0 victory over Mawkyrwat District Sports Association in the U-14 category and a 2-0 win in the U-16 match. Both Nongstoin and Ri-Bhoi are now at the top of the table in their respective age groups.

In additional matches, Pyndengumiong District Sports Association’s U-14 team secured a 2-0 win against Tyrsad Area Sports Association in Zone D, while their U-16 team lost 4-0 to the same opponent.

Zone A saw Williamnagar District Sports Association defeat Tura District Football Association 6-2 in the U-16 category, with Vrickan N Sangma scoring the season’s first hat-trick. In the U-14 category, North Garo Hills District Sports Association dominated Baghmara District Football Association 7-0, led by Negsim Ch Momin’s four-goal performance.

In Zone B, West Jaintia District Sports Association made a strong debut with a 5-1 victory in the U-14 category and a 1-0 win in the U-16 category against East Jaintia District Football Association at Kiang Nangbah Stadium.

Laskein Block Sports Association rebounded from a previous defeat with a 2-0 win in the U-14 category against Saipung Block Sports Association, while their U-16 match ended in a 1-1 draw.
