Manipur Police Capture Top Operative of KCP(MC)-Nongdrenkhomba; Security Measures Intensified

Manipur Police have achieved a major success in their counterinsurgency operations by arresting a prominent member of the banned militant group KCP(MC)-Nongdrenkhomba. The detained individual, identified as 30-year-old Sagolshem Johnson Singh, was apprehended in Toubul, Bishnupur District. Singh, known for his involvement in extortion activities, was found with a live round of ammunition, a four-wheeler, eight mobile phones, four extortion demand letters from KCP(MC)-Nongdrenkhomba, Rs. 35,000 in cash, and other items.

In response to the arrest, security forces have ramped up operations across the state, conducting extensive search and area dominance exercises in both hill and valley districts. These actions are part of a comprehensive strategy to ensure public safety and enhance security.

The movement of essential goods remains a top priority. Security personnel have facilitated the passage of 272 vehicles carrying vital supplies on National Highway 2, implementing enhanced security measures including convoy escorts in sensitive areas to ensure the smooth flow of goods.

Furthermore, 102 checkpoints have been established across various districts to bolster security. These checkpoints have already resulted in the detention of 49 individuals for various infractions, underscoring the state’s commitment to maintaining law and order.
