Tripura CM Manik Saha Declares Ex-Gratia for Flood Victims, Urges Public Support

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh for families of those who have died in the recent floods that have devastated the state. This decision comes amid severe flooding that has caused widespread displacement and numerous casualties.

During a visit to a relief camp at BR Ambedkar School in Agartala, Saha emphasized the gravity of the situation and called on the public to support the government’s relief efforts. “The situation remains critical. I urge everyone to cooperate with the government and NDRF teams,” Saha said. He also mentioned plans to potentially conduct an aerial survey of the affected areas, contingent on weather conditions.

The Chief Minister praised the Central Government’s swift response, particularly highlighting Home Minister Amit Shah’s support and the aid dispatched in response to their discussions. “The Central Government and Home Minister Amit Shah have provided essential aid quickly,” Saha acknowledged.

Focusing on the worst-hit areas such as Amarpur in Gomati District, Saha noted ongoing efforts to distribute food and consider airlifting supplies. He expressed gratitude to District Magistrates and Disaster Management teams for their tireless work. “We are working diligently across all affected areas,” he said.

Saha took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to reaffirm his appeal for public cooperation, reassuring residents of Tripura that the administration is fully committed to supporting those affected. “I seek the cooperation of all citizens during this disaster. Rest assured, the administration is fully dedicated to assisting the affected families,” he posted.
