IAF Launches Massive Flood Rescue Mission in Tripura

In the wake of devastating floods sweeping Tripura since August 19, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has launched a comprehensive relief operation, code-named “Operation Megh Rahat.” Deploying its fleet of Mi-17 and ALH helicopters, the IAF has successfully airlifted over 30 tons of essential supplies, including food, medicine, and shelter materials, to the most affected areas.

So far, the operation has reached over 5,000 stranded residents in remote locations such as Rangamati, Jatanbari, and Paschim Malbasa, providing critical sustenance and support. The IAF’s precision air drops have ensured timely delivery of aid to the worst-hit districts of Gomati and South Tripura.

In collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the IAF is working tirelessly to evacuate those trapped and provide medical assistance to the affected populations. As the situation remains precarious, “Operation Megh Rahat” continues to bring hope and relief to the people of Tripura.
