BJP Sikkim President DR Thapa Raises Key Development Issues at Dinner with Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia
Gangtok, September 6, 2024 — BJP Sikkim State President DR Thapa addressed significant development concerns during a special dinner with Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya Scindia on September 5. The event, held in Gangtok, also featured notable attendees including boxing coach Sandhya Gurung, footballer Nirmal Chettri, Sikkim Hotel and Restaurant Association President Saradha Sharma, and radio jockey Priyanka Tamang.
At the gathering, Thapa highlighted pressing issues affecting Sikkim’s progress, notably the deteriorated condition of National Highway 10, severely impacted by the Teesta Flood last year. He urged Minister Scindia to prioritize infrastructure repairs to ensure uninterrupted connectivity to and from Sikkim.
Thapa also stressed the untapped potential of Sikkim’s tourism industry, which plays a crucial role in the state’s economy. He called for new initiatives to boost tourism, emphasizing the need to capitalize on Sikkim’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.
