Assam Police Intercept Two Bangladeshi Infiltrators at Indo-Bangladesh Border

Assam Police intercepted two Bangladeshi infiltrators, Shahadat Hussain and Priyanka Gain, along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Karimganj. This operation is part of ongoing vigilance to prevent illegal border crossings.

The police acted on intelligence and successfully pushed the infiltrators back across the border. An investigation into the incident is underway.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the police for their vigilance and emphasized the importance of maintaining strict border security. This operation follows a similar incident last week when Assam Police apprehended and deported several Bangladeshi nationals, including Afroja Jahirul Sardar, Tumpa Haque, Ridoy Sk, Akhi Sk, and Lakhipur Akhtar, during an early morning operation.

In another recent operation, on August 28, Karimganj police intercepted and deported three more Bangladeshi nationals—Md Zubair Sheikh, Juel Sheikh, and Ruma Khatun—who were attempting to enter Assam illegally.
