Manipur Students’ Protest Escalates at Ima Market with Deadline Imposed on Governor

Students protesting at Ima Market in Manipur since September 9 have given Governor Lakshman Acharya a 24-hour ultimatum to address their demands, set to expire at 1 PM today. The protest, which began in front of Raj Bhawan, saw security forces disperse the crowd after stone-pelting incidents.

Relocating to Ima Market, the students continued their demonstration overnight and have warned of escalating their actions if their demands are unmet by the deadline. In response, both state and central forces have been deployed around the market, enforcing tight security measures.

Despite police requests to vacate the area, protesters remain defiant. Updates on the situation will follow as developments unfold.
