Assam Launches Orunodoi 3.0 to Strengthen Food Security Across State

Guwahati, Assam — On September 19, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma officially launched the Orunodoi 3.0 scheme, a major upgrade aimed at enhancing food security across the state. This new iteration of the program is set to extend benefits to an additional 19,92,167 beneficiaries, significantly broadening the reach of the initiative under the Food Security Act.

The launch event, which was marked by celebrations statewide, kicks off the process of integrating new beneficiaries into the scheme. Dr. Sarma underscored the government’s commitment to improving food security and welfare for Assam’s residents, highlighting the expanded scope of the program.

State Minister and MLA Ashok Singhal elaborated on the beneficiary selection process, explaining that public meetings will be held at the booth level in every village to ensure a fair and transparent process. Singhal assured that the implementation of Orunodoi 3.0 will be closely monitored to guard against any irregularities, reiterating the government’s firm stance against corruption and malpractice.

Singhal also issued a strong warning against any attempts to disrupt the scheme’s rollout, including interference from political entities. He emphasized that strict action would be taken against anyone seeking to undermine the implementation of Orunodoi 3.0, affirming that the government remains resolute in ensuring the program’s success.
