Assam Police Dismantles Major Drug Trafficking Operation with Rs 15.5 Crore Seizure

In a decisive blow to drug trafficking, Assam Police executed a successful operation on September 20 in Banskandi, Cachar, seizing a staggering haul of illicit drugs valued at Rs 15.5 crore. Acting on credible intelligence, law enforcement intercepted a truck and discovered 18,000 YABA tablets along with 2 kilograms of crystalline methamphetamine.

The operation led to the arrest of two suspects, further emphasizing the police’s relentless efforts to tackle the surging drug crisis in the state. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised the police force’s swift response, lauding their commitment on social media platform X, stating, “Good job @assampolice,” in recognition of their hard work.

This significant seizure adds to Assam’s ongoing campaign against narcotics, showcasing the determination of law enforcement agencies to disrupt trafficking networks and ensure community safety.
