Sikkim’s Roads and Bridges Department Conducts Free Health Camp, Benefits 1,500 Residents

The Roads and Bridges Department of Sikkim successfully organized a two-day health camp titled ‘Your Health, Our Priority’ at Sonamati Memorial Government Senior Secondary School in Khamdong on September 21-22, 2024. Under the leadership of Minister N.B. Dahal, the initiative aimed to provide essential medical services to the community and was carried out in partnership with the Lions Club of Gangtok.

The health camp attracted nearly 1,500 patients from Khamdong and neighboring areas, offering free consultations and medicines. In his opening remarks, Minister Dahal highlighted the need for increased health awareness in regions where access to basic healthcare can be a struggle. He expressed appreciation for the dedication of the medical professionals involved and encouraged residents to take advantage of the services provided.

Attendees benefited from consultations with specialist doctors in various fields, including physiotherapy, dentistry, ophthalmology, pediatrics, nephrology, ENT, general medicine, gynecology, orthopedics, and cardiology. Additionally, a team from the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Gangtok, conducted thorough health check-ups, further enhancing the camp’s outreach and impact.
