BSF Protests After Abduction of Personnel by Bangladeshi Miscreants at India-Bangladesh Border
In a serious security incident along the India-Bangladesh border, the Border Security Force (BSF) lodged an official protest with the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) following the abduction of one of its personnel. The incident took place during a routine patrol near the Biral border in Dinajpur, India.
Reports indicate that a group of 15 to 20 Bangladeshi nationals crossed into Indian territory, forcibly taking the BSF jawan and transporting him back into Bangladesh. The personnel was subsequently handed over to the BGB.
The Inspector General of BSF North Bengal swiftly contacted the BGB’s North West Region Commander to demand the immediate and safe release of the abducted jawan. This prompted diplomatic and security dialogues, culminating in a high-level meeting between the sector commanders of both forces.
As a result of these discussions, the BGB facilitated the return of the BSF personnel, ensuring his safe repatriation to India. The BSF has expressed grave concerns regarding this security breach and is working closely with the BGB to enhance border security and prevent such incidents in the future.
