Assam Police Intensify Border Security, Apprehend Four Bangladeshi Nationals

The Assam police have ramped up security measures along the Indo-Bangladesh border, successfully apprehending four Bangladeshi nationals who illegally crossed into Indian territory. The individuals, identified as Md Jahangir, Nucadiya Bibi, Rumana, and Md Hussain, were intercepted during a recent operation.

In accordance with standard procedures, the authorities promptly repatriated the individuals back to Bangladesh, reinforcing the Assam police’s ongoing commitment to prevent illegal infiltration and uphold peace and security in border areas.

In a separate incident, the police arrested another Bangladeshi national, Md. Nahid Hussain, a resident of Madiripur, Dhaka, raising the total number of apprehensions to over 108 this year. The Assam police have maintained strict vigilance along the border to deter further infiltrations.

Taking to the microblogging platform X, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commented on the situation, stating, “Maintaining alert along the border, 1 illegal Bangladeshi national was apprehended by @assampolice today near the International border.”

The authorities remain dedicated to securing the international boundary and ensuring the safety of the state.
