In a major anti-drug operation on October 15, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam arrested a drug peddler and seized a significant quantity of heroin in Guwahati. The raid took place near Maharishi Kids Home on Shivcharan Boro Path in Sawkuchi, under the jurisdiction of Basistha Police Station.
The arrested individual, identified as Bappy Mallick (29), hailing from Rabhapara in Fakiragram, Kokrajhar district, was apprehended after officials discovered ten vials of heroin weighing 13.3 grams. A mobile phone was also recovered during the operation.
Bappy Mallick, who is currently residing in Ahom Gaon, Kamrup (Metro) district, is under custody as authorities continue with the necessary formalities related to the case. This arrest is part of the ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in Assam as law enforcement intensifies its efforts to curb illegal drug activities in the region.
