A man lost his life in a tragic incident involving a wild elephant in Rani, on the outskirts of Guwahati city. The attack took place in the Patgaon area and was captured on camera by a local resident, highlighting the sudden and violent nature of the encounter.
The incident occurred on a busy main road, where the elephant charged at the man, leading to his immediate death at the scene. As of now, the victim’s identity has not been confirmed.
Forest officials and local police promptly arrived at the location, recovering the body. The remains were then transported to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for a post-mortem examination. This incident underscores the growing concerns regarding human-wildlife conflicts in the region, prompting calls for increased measures to ensure safety for both residents and wildlife.
