Tragic Diwali Night Accident Claims One Life in Guwahati, Injures Six

A tragic road accident on Diwali night in the Sawkuchi area of Guwahati resulted in the death of one individual and left six others injured, including three children. The incident occurred when a Tata DI pickup van (registration number AS12AC9691) collided head-on with an auto rickshaw traveling from Dakhingaon to Sawkuchi.
Eyewitnesses reported that the autorickshaw, which had been purchased just days earlier on Dhanteras, was heavily damaged in the collision, leading to severe injuries for its passengers. The pickup driver, in an apparent attempt to flee the scene, lost control of the vehicle, veering onto the footpath and crashing into an electric pole.
The deceased has been identified as Sona Mia, a resident of Majdia Village in Barpeta. The city police arrived promptly at the scene to assist the injured and begin an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this devastating accident. Local authorities are now working to gather further details as the community mourns the loss and seeks answers in the wake of this tragedy.
