Assam Youth Rescued from Human Trafficking Ring in Malaysia by Guwahati Cyber Police
In a significant success, the Guwahati Cyber Police have rescued Satyam Choudhury, a youth from Assam, who had been trapped in a human trafficking network in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Choudhury, who was studying in Chennai, had gone missing in August, and his family had lost all contact with him, sparking concerns over his safety.
For weeks, Choudhury’s whereabouts remained unknown, leaving his family in distress. In response, the Guwahati Cyber Police took charge of the investigation and, after two months of diligent search, located him in a temple in Lageshwaram, approximately 400 km from Kuala Lumpur.
Following his rescue, Choudhury was swiftly brought back to India and is currently in Assam, where authorities are continuing to assess the situation. This successful rescue marks a significant achievement in the fight against human trafficking, highlighting the efforts of the Guwahati Cyber Police.
