Rahul Gandhi Urges PM Modi to Visit Manipur Amid Ongoing Violence

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has expressed deep concern over the continued violent clashes and bloodshed in Manipur, calling the situation “deeply disturbing.” In a message shared on the social media platform ‘X,’ Gandhi criticized the Central and State governments for failing to prioritize reconciliation efforts, even after over a year of unrest and suffering in the state.

In his post, Gandhi wrote, “The recent string of violent clashes and continuing bloodshed in Manipur is deeply disturbing. After more than a year of division and suffering, it was the hope of every Indian that the Central and State governments would have made every effort at reconciliation and found a solution.”

He reiterated his appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Manipur, emphasizing the need for urgent measures to restore peace and heal the fractured region. “I urge the PM once again to visit Manipur and work towards restoring peace and healing in the region,” he added.

The ongoing violence in Manipur, rooted in ethnic tensions, has led to widespread displacement and loss of lives, drawing criticism from various quarters about the government’s handling of the crisis. Gandhi’s remarks reflect mounting pressure on the government to take decisive steps to resolve the situation.
