Manoj Payaria’s Body Found After Boat Accident, Suspect Surrenders Following Investigation

The body of Manoj Payaria, who went missing following a tragic boat accident in Dinjan, Chabua, Assam, was recovered six days later, bringing a somber end to the search for the missing man.

Payaria had disappeared while attempting to rescue passengers from the capsized boat, prompting widespread concern and admiration for his bravery. However, reports indicate that despite his heroic efforts, Manoj was later denied permission to board the same boat he had helped people escape from.

Amrish Mipun, a key suspect, was accused of preventing Manoj from boarding the boat due to a personal dispute. After the incident, Mipun went into hiding, leading the Jonai police to launch a manhunt in the Dodhia area.

Last Wednesday, Mipun surrendered at the Jonai police station in Dhemaji district and was subsequently transferred to Tinsukia police for further investigation. During interrogation, Mipun confessed to blocking Manoj from boarding the boat due to their ongoing personal conflict. He further admitted to pushing Manoj into the water by kicking him in the chest, directly leading to the tragic incident.

The case has raised serious concerns over the role of personal conflicts in the incident, with authorities vowing to pursue justice for Manoj Payaria.
