The minor girl, hailing from Chhaygaon in Kamrup district, claimed that she had been subjected to harsh treatment at the residence of a prominent individual in the city. Driven to desperation, she sought refuge near the Janata Bhawan, where a concerned citizen noticed her distress and alerted the authorities.
